Arapaho Bend Natural Area
Fort Collins natural area on the Poudre just across I-25 from Timnath: four miles of trail around old gravel ponds and Rigden Reservoir, fishing, 80 bird species and the Strauss Cabin ruins.
The natural area at the Harmony Road interchange on the Fort Collins side of the river: about four miles of paved and natural-surface trail looping the reclaimed gravel ponds and Rigden Reservoir, fishing for bass, bluegill, perch and sunfish, more than 80 bird species including white pelicans, and the ruins of the Strauss Cabin, one of the area’s earliest log houses. Leashed dogs, horses and non-motorized boats allowed; no e-bikes on the unpaved sections. Open 5 am to 11 pm.
