Timnath Presbyterian Church
The 1888 church that gave the town its name, the first and only house of worship built in Timnath and one of Colorado's oldest continuously active Presbyterian congregations, with its original pews and pulpit.
The Presbyterian congregation was organized in 1883 with 21 members under the Rev. Charles Taylor, who named the town from the Book of Judges when he opened the post office the next year, and built its church on Main Street in 1888 for $3,500. It is the first and only house of worship built in Timnath and one of the oldest Presbyterian churches in continuous existence in Colorado; the original pews, pulpit and beams are still in use, with a fellowship hall added in 1988–89. Old Town’s holiday tree lighting gathers here.
